Ethics in the trenches: Case studies and solutions

This lively session addresses real-world ethical dilemmas that professionals encounter today, how they recognize them, and how they resolve them. Get a deeper appreciation for what the AAEA Code of Ethics means when it’s put into practice. The University of Guelph’s Owen Roberts moderates a panel from the agricultural media, social media, public relations agencies and associations, looking at ethical challenges in the trenches – in our jobs as editors, freelancers, PR practitioners and ag communications professionals.

About Own Roberts

Owen Roberts is the director of research communications at the University of Guelph and is also an agri-food columnist for the Guelph Daily Mercury and other agri-food publications. Owen founded a program called Students Promoting Awareness of Research Knowledge (SPARK) this program has been introduced by 20 other Canadian universities. While SPARK receives much recognition, Owen was personally recognized by the Ontario Instituted of Agrologists and named an honorary professional agrologist.
