Six sessions from the summit will be broadcast live online from New Orleans. If you can’t attend or have coworkers who can’t attend, the sessions can be viewed live online at

The University of Guelph’s Owen Roberts moderates a panel from the agricultural media, social media, public relations agencies and associations, looking at ethical challenges in the trenches – in our jobs as editors, freelancers, PR practitioners and ag communications professionals.
3:15 to 4:30 p.m. –
Depth and impact: Make your writing shine!
David Schimke, editor-in-chief of the Utne Reader, will share techniques to improve the depth and impact of your writing. Explore inventive leads, narrative tension and internal transitions, as well as the importance – and perils – of pursuing tone and voice. In addition to better stories, you’ll improve editor-writer communications from the assignment to the final edit.
